Uniting Our Heart With the Word of God
Acts 13:22
In Galatians 5: 17, it is written; For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
There are many things that we do not know; the benefits of word of God, the church and the servant of God. We are the people who can forsake God and serve Baal. Baal is the god of material abundance and those who serve him are they which serve the flesh.
One thought can hold someone captive, unable to break free and live happily. It is not the circumstances that we are in that are the problem, but the fact that Jesus is not present, that is the problem. What thought is filling our mind? “I am poor” “I cannot do it” “I am not eloquent” “I am shy” “I didn’t go to school”
The thought that hinders us from uniting with God's Heart
The main speaker Pastor Cho Sang Rae testified of how once he suffered from a disease called panic disorder; it was so severe that he couldn’t move his body, nearly shutting down his nervous system. Pastor Park had fellowship with him, “if Jesus is alive in your heart, this disease is nothing” but he couldn’t receive the words of Pastor Park with his heart, for the thought of the disease had filled his heart completely. His thought hindered the connection between the words of Pastor Park and his heart.
In 1 Kings 17, the widow of Zarephath, threw away her thought and received the words of Prophet Elijah, on the contrary Martha in John 11 couldn’t receive the words of Jesus but left him having exalting the circumstances.
The thoughts in our hearts keep rejecting the words of God. Living our lives with grievances filled in our hearts hinder fellowship from flowing and results in noises in our hearts. Many times we know but we do not want to accept or hear that we need only to rely on the Word of God.
The person who is able to unite his heart with the word of God receives blessings and abundant peace, remains victorious over situations and is never afraid.
1 Peter 1:23, we are born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, which is the word of God which lives and abides forever. Amen.
